I’ve been contemplating this whole blogging thing for awhile and have decided to just go for it. I have things to say about a lot of topics, but for those of you that despise running, you may not be interested in my blog. Throughout this I won’t just talk about running necessarily-but it will be a central theme. So, unless you know me and are just curious about how good or bad I am at writing, or you LOVE TO RUN, this may not be the blog for you.
Today, I didn’t run. Instead, I decided it was a good time to make use of a few of my Exercise themed Pinterest pins and did some at-home exercises. The list is relatively extensive though it didn’t take more than about 20 minutes, and each set wasn’t all at once-it was split up more like a circuit training style of workout. This included short breaks.
130 jumping jacks
60 crunches
25 sit ups
75 squats
30 sec planks x 3
60 sec plank x 1
10 push-ups x 3
25 push-ups x 1
20 triceps dips
10 burpees
60 second wall sit
60 oblique crunches
10 lunges on each side
20 leg lifts
30 bicycles
20 calf raises
Doing all of this gave me a positive sense of well-being after, though not the same as I feel after a good run! This week has been a bit of a ‘shit show’ for lack of a better term, so finding time to exercise has been a bit more challenging.
My 10 month baby boy caught an illness at daycare, so my husband and I have had to share/split days to watch him while he still has a fever. Trust me, it’s not fun paying a daycare center when your child isn’t there! In addition, my 8 year old daughter is on an antibiotic for a sinus infection, and my 5 year old daughter, the mostly sweet middle child, was a dramatic whiny Kindergartener tonight. Why? Because she yelled at her dad and when told to stop or go to her room to calm down, she started crying at dinner, and delayed eating. Ah, the life of a 5 year old. Where the biggest issue is whether or not you’ve completed the right amount of dinner to warrant dessert. Or, heaven forbid Mom and Dad send you to bed early for whining! But will you stop whining to ensure this doesn’t happen? No! It’s better to continue to whine about how you don’t want to go to bed early. But I digress…tonight was a bit stressful, but with three kiddos it’s bound to be! Regardless, they make my heart happy and are part of my motivation to stay fit and healthy.
I’ll leave you with some pictures of my children, oldest to youngest.
